Youth Sports

Youth Baseball

Park sponsored leagues are available in the following age divisions: 6-7*, 7-8*, 9-10, 11-12,13-14   Registration for age 14 and below divisions is held in February, with practices beginning in March, and games beginning in April. Regular season for age 14 and under divisions ends in early June with all-star post season competition continuing through early July.   All age groups are franchised through and play by rules established by Dixie Youth Baseball. . 
*Ages 6-7 & 7-8 are machine pitch, all other ages are player pitch.

A tee-ball baseball league is open to boys and girls ages 5-6. The league is administered by the Winfield Community Education Program. Practices are held at various school and park fields with all games played on park fields. Registration begins in March with practice and games beginning in April and games ending in May. Youth Softball

Park sponsored leagues are available in the following age divisions: 7-8*, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14  Registration for age 14 and under leagues is held in February, with practices beginning in March, and games beginning in April. The season for ages 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12 ends with a county tournament in early June. Age 12 and under leagues use modified high school rules while age 13-14 use high school rules.
*7-8 league is machine pitch, all other leagues are fast pitch, player pitch.

Fall Baseball

This program began in 2002 for boys and girls age 7-14. Registration and practices begin in August with games beginning in September. The season ends in late October. Age groups are determined based on registration numbers; however, age groups will be kept as close to youth baseball age divisions as possible. 

Youth Basketball

A park sponsored league began in 2002 for grades kindergarten - 1st grade and in 2005 for grades 6 & 7. Registration begins in November, practices in December, with games played in January and February. Games and practices are currently held at Winfield Freewill Baptist Church Gymnasium and Winfield Middle School Gymnasium.. 

Winfield Community Education offers a basketball program for boys and girls grades 2-5. The divisions are grades 2-3 girls, grades 4-5 girls, grades 2-3 boys, and grades 4-5 boys. Practice begins in November with games played December - February. Games and practices are held at local church and school gymnasiums. Youth Flag Football

A league administered through the Winfield Community Education Program offers play for boys and girls grades 1-6, with grades 1-3 and 4-6 in separate divisions. Registration and practice begins in August, with games played in September and October. Practices and games are at Winfield Elementary School. Toybowl Football

Toybowl Football is a parent-run youth football association with teams in three age divisions. Teams participate in league with other towns in Northwest Alabama. Top teams per age division advance to playoffs at end of season. Toybowl football is full contact in all age groups. 

Ballet

Classes are offered at Winfield Community Center each Thursday after school during the months of August-May. For more information, call Rachel Tramutolo at (205) 487-4629.

Soccer

A park sponsored league offered for ages 5-12 which was restarted in 2006 after almost a 15 year absence.  Currently ages 5-6, 7-9 and 10-12 divisions play with teams from Guin and Hamilton.  Signup held in early August, practices in late August and early September, games begin mid September thru late October.
