Ivan K. Hill Park is a drug free, alcohol free, weapon free environment. Violators will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Please help us maintain an environment which can be enjoyed by all ages.

Winfield Community Center consists of meeting rooms and a full kitchen.  It is available for rental for reunions, parties, meetings, etc.  Rates are as follows:

Meeting Room #3 $100.00 $50.00

Commercial rates are also available. Ask for details.

Office hours are 8 am- 12 pm and 1 pm - 5pm weekdays.

For availability, call Park Office at (205) 487-6710. The center also is the site of a weekday senior citizens program. For senior citizens program information, call Winfield Meal Site at (205) 487-3552

Picnic Pavilions

Picnic pavilions are available for group use. Reservations and fee are required to guarantee availability. Small pavilions are $10 per 4 hour period or $30 all day.  Large pavilion is $25 per 4 hour period or $50 all day.  Each  pavilion has lights & electricity.  For information, call Park Office @ 487-6710.

Winfield Park has four baseball and four softball fields. Park sponsored groups/events have priority use of all fields. For information on field reservation/rental call Park office.

 

Winfield Swimming Poolpool.JPG (99966 bytes)

The Winfield Swimming Pool has been permanently closed as a result of December 15, 2009 city council vote.  Operating costs and lack of community support were reasons for pool closure.

Scout Hut

Winfield Scout Hut is home to local boy scout and girl scout programs. For information on boy scout programs, contact Clint Marshall at (205) 487-6482. For information on girl scout programs, contact Gina Bryant @ 412-2576.

 

Nature Trail and Walking TrackWalking Track Resurfacing.JPG (91455 bytes)

A paved nature trail and paved quarter mile walking track are located at the park and available for use year around.  Both facilities were resurfaced in spring of 2007..

Driving Range

A golf driving range is located on the east side of the park along the banks of the Luxapallila River.

Playground equipment and picnic tables are located throughout the park. In addition, a caboose and army tank (exterior restored) are centrally located along the main park thoroughfare.  The caboose exterior was repainted in fall of 2007, work continues on interior restoration.  A nice deck with picnic tables is located beside caboose, built as an Eagle Scout project.

 

Restrooms

Restrooms are located at the north, south and west ends of the park and are open mid-March through November.

Sand Volleyball

A regulation sand volleyball court is located beside tennis courts on west side of park.

Horseshoe Pits

Three tournament regulation sand pits are located beside tennis courts on west side of park.  These pits are the official practice pits of the 2006 Alabama Horseshoe Pitchers Association Mens'  Class E State Champion, a resident of Winfield.

Tennis Courts

Two lighted tennis courts are located beside Field 6 on west side of park.

Basketball Goals

Goals are located at north and south ends of walking track.

Disc (Frisbee) Golf Course

Nestled along the banks of the Luxapallila River on the park's east side, this nine hole course  (par 32) is approximately 1/2 mile in length and is situated in a well shaded, flat area with tree trunks and low hanging branches as the primary obstacles. Great fun for the family, great exercise and a low cost family outing!!  The course was built as an Eagle Scout project - begins behind the Lions Club Pavilion.
